Guachinarte

About

Guachinarte is a Biel/Bienne-based architectural visualization studio founded and led by Phil Buerer, who specializes in producing quality renderings and artistic images of the unbuilt. With a background in architectural drafting, Buerer's journey into visualization began with a fascination for bringing architectural ideas to life, leading him to establish his studio where he developed a unique artistic vision. Central to Buerer's approach is his ability to reimagine classic structures through Luis Barragán's philosophy, balancing simplicity, elegance, and poetic perfection while drawing from Barragán's emphasis on texture and light interplay. Fascinated by mid-century modern architecture, particularly from California, he captures the essence of California living through careful composition and attention to detail, portraying the symbiotic relationship between architecture and nature. Using tools like Cinema 4D, V-Ray, and Photoshop, Buerer pushes visualization boundaries while drawing inspiration from pioneers like Julius Shulman. His creative process focuses on guiding the viewer's eye through light and shadow arrangement, believing that while accuracy is fundamental, it's the message and composition that make a good image rather than mere realism.
